Becoming a sponsor

• Means developing a long-term fulfilling relationship with a child from the ‘roof of the world’.

• Means offering a child a chance to grow up in good health.

• Means providing access to education and life in decent sanitary conditions.

• Means that the child you sponsor will have access to the basic fundamental rights that should be available to all children: housing, food, health and education.

    Sponsorship is a commitment

This is a long-term commitment. Sponsoring a child is a commitment that will see them through all their schooling.

It means you can visit the child and see for yourself the life conditions of the Nepalese and understand the benefits sponsoring children provides, as well as see children who are always happy to meet the person that helps them.

During the course of your sponsorship, you will receive regular updates about the evolution of the orphanage and you might also be able to join in on some fundraising actions.

How much does a sponsorship cost ?

The cost of fully sponsoring a child is 75 CHF per month. This money not only goes towards financing projects to improve the future of the child, but also to improve the living conditions of the center as a whole. A partial sponsorship can be made for 50 CHF per month, or even a child support for 25 CHF per month.

Since 2014, the total amount of sponsorship (900 CHF per year), does not enable us to cover the costs of caring for one child: accommodation, school, food, support, etc. Rather than increase sponsorship fees, we have chosen to seek further funding to make up for the loss by seeking support, for example, from foundations.

Should you wish to end your sponsorship at any point, we would ask that you kindly let us know as soon as possible so that we can find another sponsor without delay.

Keeping in touch with the child you sponsor

As soon as you register, you can get in touch with the child you sponsor and you can write to them as much as you like. Getting news from someone, however distant they might be, can be very meaningful to the children.

Don’t hesitate to send pictures of yourself and your family, where you live, etc. Mail takes a week or two to be delivered. As a precaution, we recommend you don’t send large packages that might attract attention.

We organize visits to the project once a year in the spring. If you wish, we can deliver mail to the children when we go.

But you can also keep touch by sending an email to the child you sponsor at sassnp@gmail.com with the child’s complete name in the subject line of the email.

PLEASE NOTE that the children do not read or understand French so you must write to them in English.

In order to be fair to all the children, we would ask you to NOT send money directly to the child you sponsor. When we are there, we do group purchases to benefit everyone and, depending on donations, we take the children on outings.
